Picture of Mag2 and Mag4 Compactor. Click to see larger version. This is a tandem compactor installation with a Mag2 and Mag4. In this case the small compactor is used for the trash, and the larger compactor is used for recyclable materials (primarily corrugated boxes, etc.). Some recyclers will haul away a container for free, if it contains only recyclable materials that require little or no sorting. This method can save substantial money on the cost of waste disposal.

Picture of Mag4pc Compactor. Click to see larger version. This is a picture of the Magnum 4, rear feed from dock type installation. This compactor also has the integrated Pre-Crusher unit.
The Pre-Crusher is a hydraulically operated steel door that lowers into the compacting chamber, to concentrate the full force of the compacting ram to be applied to the trash. The door is then automatically raised, and the crushed items are then compacted into the receiver container, on the next cycle. The entire process can be set with the DR100 automatic multi-cycle controls, for efficient operation. Just push the button, and it's gone. These pre-crusher units can crush and flatten 55-gallon steel drums, old wooden pallets, and even metal appliances, such as refrigerators or stoves, etc. Some manufacturers use them to crush rejected product, to prevent items from being pilfered from the trash pile, etc.

Picture of Through-Wall, Compactor installation. Click to see larger version. This is a custom installation, whereby the compactor is recessed into the floor, and compacts trash through an outside wall of the building, into the receiver container, which is on the outside. With this method the trash can be dumped directly into the compactor's hopper, from inside the building. This provides maximum efficiency for dumping trash. In addition the controls are set so that the compactor's ram stops in the forward position. When the outside receiver container is detached for dumping, access to the inside of the building is NOT compromised, thereby enhancing security, but maintaining efficiency in refuse handling.
This is just one example of the many types of installations that Consolidated has to offer, that can save you time and money in the long run. One of our representatives would be happy to meet with you to discuss your own particular needs. We can design a system that's just right for you.
